The browser’s MediaRecorder captures the selected portion while it plays. This avoids uploads and large transcoding downloads, but makes export approximately real time.
WebM is the format current browsers can encode reliably through MediaRecorder. Local MP4 creation generally requires a much larger transcoding engine.
The clip is re-recorded using your selected bitrate and browser codec. Timing is precise to normal playback events, but this is not frame-perfect professional editing.
Current Chrome or Edge provides the most consistent captureStream and MediaRecorder support. Other browsers may not support local video export.
