(20 ÷ 100) × 150 = 0.20 × 150 = 30
Example: Price went from $80 to $100.
((100 − 80) ÷ 80) × 100 = (20 ÷ 80) × 100 = 25% increase

((100 − 75) ÷ 100) × 100 = (25 ÷ 100) × 100 = 25% decrease
Percentage difference compares two values with no implied "before" or "after". It uses the average of both values as the base. Use it when neither value is the "original".
Original = Final Price ÷ (1 − Discount%/100)
Example: You paid $75 after a 25% discount.
Original = 75 ÷ (1 − 0.25) = 75 ÷ 0.75 = $100
Formula: Final = Price × (1 + Tax%/100)
Example: $200 + 20% VAT = 200 × 1.20 = $240
To find the pre-tax price from a tax-inclusive price, use the Find Original Value calculator with "decrease".
